Six families of Pamir Kyrgyz arrive in Kyrgyzstan

Six families of Pamir Kyrgyz arrived in Kyrgyzstan. Gulnara Toralieva, Head of the Information Support Department of the government’s executive office informed 24.kg news agency.

According to her, a government expedition led by the Vice Prime Minister Cholpon Sultanbekova arrived in Kyrgyzstan on October 11 and brought 17 children from the Little and Big Pamir (Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) under the age of 18, accompanied by their parents. It is expected that they will study at the educational institutions of the country.

«This event was organized to support compatriots within the framework of the agreements reached between Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan, and earlier, on October 2, the government sent an expedition to the Little and the Big Pamir for delivery of humanitarian cargo and families,» Gulnura Toralieva said.

She noted that the humanitarian cargo, consisting of medicines, warm clothing, food products weighing 60 tons worth 7 million soms, was delivered to the Pamir.

«33 people arrived in the republic, 17 of them are children, there is also a pregnant woman and one and a half year old child. The children will be accommodated in Naryn region,» she said.

Since the Kyrgyz lived at an altitude of 4,200-4,500 meters above sea level, they will be under constant supervision of doctors for 6-7 days, she noted.

After acclimatization, children will start their studies, and various courses will be organized for the parents. They will be rendered social support, Gulnura Toralieva added.

It is planned that they will come to Naryn region on October 13.
