The trial of the case of ex-Minister of Justice Aida Salyanova continues in Leninsky District Court of Bishkek. Hearing of oral statements of the parties began.
Prosecutors say that the guilt of the defendant has been fully proved and, in the opinion of the prosecutors, Aida Salyanova was personally interested in renewing the license to Aleksey Eliseev, who, they believe, has used it to start legal practice in Latvia, where in 2010 he received a residence permit , and in 2011 — the refugee status. With this permission in hand, Aleksey Eliseev was able to open a website for providing consulting services. Aida Salyanova, the prosecutors stress, assisted him.
The state prosecutors noted that Eliseev was wanted, and Aida Salyanova could spot for herself before issuing him a license. However, the defendant argues that Eliseev’s issue was decided by the qualification commission, headed by the main witness of the accusation Zhyldyz Mambetalieva. She only put a visa stamp.
It should be noted that Aleksey Eliseev has never been on the international wanted list, he stated it in his video message.
The prosecution requested eight years of imprisonment for Aida Salyanova.
Aida Salyanova is charged with abuse of office.
