License issued to Aleksey Eliseev has no legal force in Latvia

A renewed attorney’s license issued to Aleksey Eliseev does not have legal force in Latvia, since Kyrgyzstan is not a member of the European Union. This was announced today in court by the defendant Aida Salyanova.

The indictment says that Aleksey Eliseev, having renewed his license, opened a consulting firm and several web sites where advertising information about the services he provides is posted.

«Aleksey Eliseev could not take any advantage in Latvia from extension of his attorney’s license. It does not help him, especially in enriching or in creating comfortable conditions. Such a conclusion of the state prosecution is untenable. Moreover, according to the information received — the consulting company was opened by Eliseev long before the renewal of the attorney’s license," Aida Salyanova said.

The Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a criminal case against the former Prosecutor General Aida Salyanova on the article Abuse of Official Position of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. She is accused of renewal of license for Aleksey Eliseev, who was at the time wanted for crimes committed. Salyanova herself calls the case against her a political order.
