Bhabhatron II radiotherapy unit delivered in Kyrgyzstan

Bhabhatron II radiotherapy unit was delivered to Kyrgyzstan from India. Director of the National Center of Oncology Ernis Tilekov informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the Indian side will install the equipment on the electric shutters, the foundation will be made and the device will be fixed. Also, Indian specialists will train Kyrgyz doctors how to work with the device.

Bhabhatron II is a remote gamma therapeutic device intended for radiotherapy of malignant neoplasms.

«While all the auxiliary works are conducted, a radioactive source Co60 (Cobalt-60) will arrive from Great Britain," Ernis Tilekov said.

Bhabhatron II radiotherapy unit was presented by the Indian side on a grant basis in accordance with the agreement between the President Almazbek Atambayev and the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the visit of the head of state to India in December 2016.
