Russian MFA promises to reconsider one-day registration for Kyrgyz citizens

The Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry promised to reconsider the requirement of a one-day registration for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to it, yesterday, within the framework of the XXIV meeting of the Consultative Council of the heads of consular services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the CIS member states, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan raised the issue of a one-day registration of foreign citizens in the cities of Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg and Sochi for the period from June 1 to July 12, 2017.

Kyrgyz diplomats noted that this decision of the Russian side was made without taking into account the provisions of international treaties.

The delegation of Tajikistan supported the opinion of the Kyrgyz side.

«In its turn, the Russian side was sympathetic to the concern of the Kyrgyz side and assured that the issue will be considered jointly with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR said.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation issued a decree on strengthening security measures during the FIFA Confederations Cup in the Russian Federation in the period from June 1 to July 12, 2017.
