More than 3,000 people resettled into tents in Chon-Alay

At least 3,140 residents of Jekendi rural area of Chon-Alai district, Osh region of Kyrgyzstan were resettled into tents. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to the ministry, it had allocated 550 tents for residents affected by the earthquake. Tents have been reportedly set up in Shibee, Jekendi, Chuluk, Kara-Teyit, Karamyk villages.

Up to date, the Civil Protection Commission of Chon-Alai district has examined 1,022 residential buildings, 537 houses of which were in emergency condition, 8 houses collapsed, the report said.

Recall, on May 3, 2017, at 10.47 and on May 5 at 11.09, earthquakes with a force of 7 points in the epicenter hit the territory of Tajikistan 26 kilometers south-west of Karamyk village in Chon-Alay district and at a distance of 35 kilometers south-west of Shibee village.

The earthquake intensity in Shibee, Karamyk and Kara-Teyit villages of Chon-Alay district reached 6 points, in other regions — 4–5 points. As a result, homes and social objects were damaged.
