Kabir Malik has been appointed the new World Bank Project Manager in Kyrgyzstan. Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov met with World Bank representatives led by Hugh Riddell, head of the Kyrgyz Republic office, during which the newly appointed official was formally introduced.
The parties also discussed the launch of the first phase of the 1,900-megawatt solar power plant project, which was commissioned on June 14. It was noted that the project is one of the results of reforms in the energy sector and investment activities.
Hugh Riddell stated that the implementation of joint projects has accelerated and become more effective in recent months, and expressed confidence that this momentum will be maintained.
«In recent times, we have observed very positive dynamics in project implementation. If we compare it with the situation a few months ago, the difference is very significant,» he said.
Altynbek Rysbekov emphasized that the World Bank is an important partner of Kyrgyzstan. According to him, joint projects are aimed at strengthening energy security and modernizing the sector.
