Kyrgyzstan plans to build an alternative road from Bishkek to Chunkurchak. The Minister of Transport and Communications, Talantbek Soltobaev, stated as part of the Open Cabinet project.
According to him, the design of the new road is currently underway. It will be four-lane and will bypass populated areas.
The new route is expected to provide a direct exit from Bishkek to Chunkurchak Gorge, reducing travel time and congestion on existing roads.
Chunkurchak is one of the most popular mountain recreation areas near the capital, so the project’s implementation should improve transport accessibility to the tourist destination.
