Young athlete from Bishkek, Sumaya Akmatova, became the cadet champion, winning a gold medal at the Asian Judo Cup held in Tashkent from May 27 to 29, 2026. Her coach, Rustam Smailov, reported.
Following the results of the competition, the Kyrgyz athlete secured the gold medal and climbed to the top of the podium, confirming her high level of preparation and athletic skill.
According to her coach, Sumaya Akmatova has been practicing judo for seven years and, in her own words, cannot imagine her life without the sport. Over the years of training, she has repeatedly participated in various competitions, and her victory at the Asian Cup has become one of the most significant achievements of her sporting career.
The success of the young athlete marks another achievement for Kyrgyzstan’s judo on the international stage and demonstrates the strong potential of the country’s young athletes.
