 Syphilis cases again on rise in Kyrgyzstan

In April 2026, at least 30,000 cases of infectious and parasitic diseases were registered in Kyrgyzstan. A report by the National Statistical Committee says, citing the Ministry of Health.

According to the report, acute respiratory viral infections predominated (74.6 percent). Acute intestinal infections accounted for 7.2 percent, enterobiasis for 4 percent, and ascariasis for 2.6 percent.

In January-April, compared to the same period last year, the incidence of syphilis per 100,000 people increased by 49.8 percent, botulism — by 25 percent, and acute intestinal infections — by 18.2 percent.

At the same time, the epidemiological situation in January-April was characterized by a significant decrease in the incidence of viral hepatitis (by 71.3 percent), HIV infection (by 14.3 percent) and tuberculosis (by 11.7 percent).
