Former Zhogorku Kenesh deputy Shairbek Tashiev has been detained for corruption. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The detention was carried out as part of a criminal investigation into alleged corruption at Kyrgyzneftegaz OJSC. The case was initiated based on materials provided by the State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the results of an audit.
According to the Interior Ministry, Shairbek Tashiev, who previously served as deputy of the Parliament, was detained during the course of the investigation.
He has been placed in a temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.
