The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) detained two officers of the Traffic Safety Department for extortion.
According to the security service, the detainees received a bribe for the release of a car from an impound lot; the SCNS caught them red-handed and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The detainees are a Senior Inspector (Major) and a Junior Inspector (Sergeant) of the Traffic Safety Department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Aitmatov district. A criminal case has been opened against them under Article 343 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
