An emergency situation has been declared in one district and three villages of Batken region. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.
In particular, the emergency situation was introduced in Kadamdzhai district, in Katran, Leilek villages of Leilek district and Ak-Tatyr village of Batken district. Work is underway to eliminate the consequences of mudflows.
Mudflows occurred in Batken, Leilek and Kadamdzhai districts on June 24 due to heavy rains.
About 1,000 residents of Zhenish village, Kadamdzhai district and 27 residents of Batken district were resettled to a safe place. In total, more than 600 people and 8 units of equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences of mudflows.
