Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov signed a decree aimed at streamlining the mechanism for execution of the law «On the voluntary legalization and amnesty of assets of individuals.» The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The Tax Service has been instructed, until the end of the period for voluntary declaration of assets, to suspend desk audits of individuals regarding compliance with the requirements of tax legislation and the payment of taxes arising from the acquisition, use or disposal of assets specified in a special declaration. This also applies to the sale of movable and immovable property.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Tax Service have been instructed to carry out explanatory work among the population on the procedure for applying the law «On the voluntary legalization and amnesty of assets of individuals.»
The Cabinet of Ministers recalled that the goals of the document are:
- Attract property and income of individuals into legal economic circulation;
- Reduce the share of shadow economy;
- Provide guarantees for the safety of assets and protection of their owners from prosecution.
The deadline for voluntary declaration of assets is the next 12 months from the date of entry into force of the law.
