Kyrgyzstan imported 32,573 cars from China for nine months of 2023. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
Compared to the same period last year, the figure increased 35 times. Only 938 cars were imported for the first nine months of 2022.
The cost of cars amounted to $516.3 million. This means that one car costs $15,800 on average.
The import of cars from South Korea also increased. At least 38,375 of them were imported for $321.1 million. This is eight times more than the level of last year, when 4,700 cars from South Korea were imported for $30.5 million.
In addition, 15,006 cars worth $153.8 million were imported from the United States, 10,796 for $105.4 million — from Russia and 9,005 for $151 million — from Japan.
A total of 122,458 cars worth $1,667.1 billion were imported to Kyrgyzstan in the first nine months of 2023. Compared to last year, the figure increased 4.8 times.
