Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopts 222 bills and 1,394 resolutions

A total of 222 bills and 1,394 resolutions have been adopted in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, for the first time it was possible to adopt the Law on the State Language, which has a constitutional status. The Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, Nurlanbek Shakiev, announced it summing up the results of the second session.

According to him, the reports of the Prosecutor General, the Accounts Chamber and the Chairman of the National Bank were considered.

«We also received information about the actions of the prosecutor, about the activities of the National Center of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment,» he said.

Six temporary deputy commissions were created in the Parliament to study a number of important issues.

«All meetings were widely covered and were broadcast live. About 250 media representatives received permanent accreditation, which allowed them to inform the population about the work of the Parliament,» Nurlanbek Shakiev said.

He noted that one of the main tasks of the Parliament is the representative function, which is to act as a link between the people and the authorities, as well as to justify the trust of voters.

The deputies completed their work and took recess on June 29. They will return to work on September 1.
