The detainee, accused of kidnapping, partially admitted his guilt. Lawyer Khusanbai Saliev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the man went on a long hunger strike and tried to commit suicide several times. The Osh City Court sentenced him to 17 years in prison.
«He is charged with kidnapping, extortion of money, illegal possession of weapons and hooliganism. During a hunger strike in March, the detainee lost almost 40 kilograms of weight. According to investigators, he allegedly kidnapped his friend. However, my client claims that it is not true. We have appealed the City Court’s decision,» Khusanbai Saliev said.
