Border guards of Dostuk-Avtodorozhny checkpoint, together with customs officers, prevented smuggling of a large amount of money across the border. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security reported.
A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who was heading to Uzbekistan, arrived at Dostuk-Avtodorozhny checkpoint.
During border and customs control, $59,100 was found in his bag. The man intended to smuggle the currency without declaring it.
After drawing up the relevant documents, the detained citizen and the money were handed over to the employees of the competent authorities for further investigation.
