The chief physician of the National Hospital Toktobai Maanaev was placed in the pretrial detention center in Bishkek. The Pervomaisky District Court of the capital confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
By decision of the investigating judge, Toktobai Maanaev was taken into custody until May 15.
A criminal case was opened against the chief physician of the National Hospital Toktobai Maanaev. According to the State Committee for National Security, corruption schemes have been revealed in the medical institution — regular extortions, kickbacks during tenders, state purchases at inflated prices from affiliated suppliers, and fictitious write-offs of medicines.
