According to her, the situation with the currency is stable. Previously, there was a shortage of cash U.S. dollars in the market. This was due to the imposition of sanctions against the main trading partners of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result, the channels established by banks for the delivery of currency after February 2022 were disrupted.
«It took time for the banks to establish new supply chains. There are no problems today. In addition, on January 13, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a ban on the export of U.S. dollars in cash. Currently, there is enough cash foreign currency in the country. There are about $600 million in the system, and 40 percent of it is in cash,» said Aida Karabaeva.
The official representative of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that they have been monitoring the activities of commercial banks and exchange offices. «In case of violation of the law, we take measures: impose fines, revoke licenses.
