Police detained a suspect in the attack on journalist Baktursun Zhorobekov. Press service of the Internal Affairs Department of Leninsky district reports.
The suspect is a 22-year-old man. A measure of restraint was chosen for him in the form of detention for a period of one month.
«Baktursun Zhorobekov applied to the police on October 27. He asked to take measures against unknown persons who on October 26 at about 11 p.m. beat him and stole his Samsung Galaxy J2 mobile phone worth 10,000 soms and a wallet with 3,500 soms. A criminal case was initiated under the article «Robbery» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. One of the suspects has been detained. The police continue investigative activities to establish the whereabouts and arrest the second suspect,» the department said.
Super TV journalist Baktursun Zhorobekov was beaten in October. He associates the attack with his professional activity. According to the victim, earlier unknown persons called the editorial office with threats.
