Kyrgyzstani Roman Petrov won a gold medal at fencing competitions as part of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey.
The athlete reached the final, where he competed with an opponent from Azerbaijan. Roman Petrov won and became the champion of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
The national team of Kyrgyzstan has 20 medals — 7 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are held for the fifth time. In 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were postponed to August 2022.
