The heads of the energy departments of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) agreed on some issues on the transportation of oil and oil products. Press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.
The parties discussed issues of order and priority of supplies, features of interstate transportation and provision of such services.
As a result of the discussion, they came to a consensus on certain issues of access to oil and petroleum products transportation systems. The parties also brought together their positions on the terms of the contract for the provision of services.
The international treaty on the formation of common markets of oil and petroleum products of the Union determines the fundamental conditions for its functioning. In general, common markets of oil and oil products are created in three stages.
At the final, third one — until January 1, 2025 — entry into force of an international treaty on the formation of common markets of oil and oil products of the EAEU is envisaged. Work on the formation of common energy markets and harmonization of national legislation is carried out taking into account the basic principles provided for by the Treaty on the EAEU, the concept and program for the formation of common markets of gas, oil and oil products.
