Patients with diabetes continue to complain about the lack of vital insulin in Kyrgyzstan — they are told that the drug will be delivered to the country in July only. They told 24.kg news agency.
The chief non-staff endocrinologist of the Ministry of Health, Natalya Dobrynina, noted that the drug is at the delivery stage.
«It starts arriving little by little. Cartridge forms of insulin analogs and Actrapid will arrive until the end of May. As for other insulin types, delivery dates are being specified. The main batch of vials will arrive on July 7. Humanitarian aid — Protaphane and Actrapid from WHO — will arrive after June 8,» she commented.
Natalya Dobrynina added that for the time being, there is insulin for all patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes who get very large doses. «As for the rest of the patients, who can temporarily take pills, doctors select drugs for them,» the specialist added.
The chief non-staff endocrinologist explained that the delay in the supply of insulin was due to the increase in the terms by the plant itself and the failure of the tender in February.
«Since March, we have repeatedly written to international funds and to the manufacturing plant, they are also looking for an opportunity. If it works out, they will send part of the batch earlier,» she explained.
