Representatives of the main agricultural and food-processing industries appealed to the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. They complain that the agricultural reform has stalled or is progressing very slowly. The appeal sent to 24.kg news agency by the Association for Development of Agro-Industrial Complex says.
«We are facing fundamental tasks to achieve food security in the republic and we are ready to act with effective state support. It is necessary to solve the issues of land, water and credit resources for agriculture and processing industry of the country,» the appeal reads.
The Association reminds that the Ministry of Agriculture earlier decided to implement the project «Crediting of agricultural sector». Several regulations have been developed and initiated together with the Association.
However, promotion and implementation of projects and tasks have been stopped or are proceeding critically slowly.
The sowing work is practically completed and the promises of state support for the cluster development of the agro-industrial complex remain in words.
From the appeal of the farmers
«We ask to hold open parliamentary hearings on the adoption of the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution «On the development of agricultural cooperatives, seed and breed farms», the Law «On introducing amendments to some legislative acts in the development of low-yielding agricultural land», implementation of paragraphs of the Decree of the President «On measures to develop the agroindustrial complex», the abolition of licensing of artesian wells, as well as the project «Crediting of agricultural complex,» the appeal says.
The Association believes that the hearings should be held with the participation of farmers, producers and processors of food products, representatives of the real sector of agriculture.
