Border guard wounded in border conflict receives flat in Bishkek

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with Mirbek Sultanbek uulu, head of Kok-Tash border outpost of military unit No. 2022 of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), and the widow of a warrant officer Bekzodbek Yuldashev, who died during the border conflict, Gulhaye Kodirova on the Defender of the Fatherland Day. The head of state asked about Mirbek Sultanbek uulu’s state of health, wished him a speedy recovery and also expressed his deep gratitude to the soldier for bravery and courage shown while guarding and protecting the state border of Kyrgyzstan.

Sadyr Japarov said that Mirbek Sultanbek uulu honorably fulfilled his military duty and set a commendable example of courage and heroism.

He instructed the Border Service of SCNS and other relevant government agencies to continue to support him on a permanent basis.

Mirbek Sultanbek uulu was handed the keys to a flat in Bishkek.

The president once again expressed condolences to the widow of Bekzodbek Yuldashev and wished her and her children health and long life. The widow of the deceased warrant officer also received material assistance.

Mirbek Sultanbek uulu received gunshot wounds during the incident on May 8, 2020 at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Batken region. The serviceman was awarded the Erdik medal this year.

Warrant officer of the Border Service of SCNS Bekzodbek Yuldashev was killed in an armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Batken region in April 2021. He was posthumously awarded the Erdik medal. His family had also previously received a flat in the capital.
