A state labor protection program has been developed in Kyrgyzstan. Talant Sharsheev, acting head of the Labor and Employment Promotion Department of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration, informs 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the document has many points, ranging from personal hygiene to the workplace, fire safety, maternity protection, rules for the use of office equipment.
«We attract international experts to evaluate the program. We presented it and are waiting for recommendations. This year we plan to adopt it. A small amount of budgetary funds is required, but investments for equipping the workplaces are needed on the part of employers,» Talant Sharsheev said.
He noted that there may be dissatisfaction on the part of business.
«It’s to be expected, because the changes will incur financial costs, but it’s necessary. Human capital is essential to both the state and the employer. If we want to retain specialists, we must create comfortable workplaces that comply with all safety standards. Analysis shows: it is the comfort at the workplace that influences high labor productivity. So that a person is not distracted by insignificant things, but works in a good mood. Not all employers, unfortunately, guarantee a safe workplace,» Talant Sharsheev added.
