Border guards prevented smuggling of goods across the border in Leilek district of Kyrgyzstan. The Public Relations and Media Department of the State Border Service of the State Committee for National Security reported.
Border guards detained an Opel Zafira car driven by a Kyrgyzstani in International village. More than 470 kilograms of tangerines grown in Tajikistan were found in the car during search.
A Nissan car driven by a citizen of Kyrgyzstan was later detained in Besh-Kent village, 500 kilograms of grapes were found inside.
«In both cases, the drivers tried to smuggle goods from Tajikistan into Kyrgyzstan. After drawing up protocols, the drivers and the cargo were handed over to the employees of the competent authorities for further investigation,» the state service noted.
