Extremist and terrorist ideas are increasingly spread using new technologies. Senior Prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Bostonov said at the round table discussion: «Observance of human rights in the context of combating extremism in OSCE region.»
According to him, approach to solving extremist and terrorist crimes has changed in recent years.
«Methods of effective combating extremist and terrorist crimes are developed together with international organizations as a result of such round tables. If earlier we confiscated brochures and other printed materials, they are digitized and distributed via the Internet now. Therefore, law enforcement agencies have opened special departments for cybercrime and Internet monitoring. In just a year, 150 websites with extremist ideas have been blocked,» Azamat Bostonov said.
