Linear accelerators delivered to Kyrgyzstan

Two sets of linear accelerators (high-energy radiotherapy equipment) have arrived in Kyrgyzstan and have been delivered to the National Center of Oncology and Hematology. Press service of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Center reported.

To ensure radiation safety, specialists are expected to arrive from Belarus (to install doors in bunkers) and Turkey (to install the linear accelerators).

«According to the terms of the concluded agreement, the period for installation, test launch, training of personnel is 120 calendar days, after which acceptance certificate is expected to be signed and the equipment will be put into operation,» the center said.

In November 2018, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan announced a tender for the purchase of two linear accelerators. On April 11, 2019, a trilateral agreement was concluded between the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, the National Center of Oncology and Hematology and MN Medical OU LLC for the supply of two sets of linear accelerators for $ 3,874,778 at the expense of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC.
