National Statistical Committee reveals sample of official IDs of census takers

It is planned to introduce an innovation on automation of registration of temporary census staff in the course of the census of population and housing of Kyrgyzstan in 2020. The National Statistical Committee of the republic reported.

According to it, an automated information system «Registration of census taker» was developed. When concluding an employment contract, information will be entered into it with the consent of the temporary census staff, and a database will be automatically generated. On its basis, an official ID will be issued that will facilitate the work of employees of the state statistics bodies. This work was done manually during the last census.

«For security and identity verification, it will have a QR code on it, which is unique for each census taker. If respondents want to make sure that a real census taker and not a fraudster came to them, they can scan the QR code. After that, a link to the server with information about the employee appears on the smartphone’s screen: photo and last name, first name, and patronymic. But part of the letters of the name will be closed for confidentiality purposes,» the National Statistical Committee said.

The population census will take place in the republic from March 23 to April 1 of the next year, and in remote areas — from March 20 to April 20.
