About 1.35 million people die in traffic accidents annually in the world and 84,000 people — in the European region, which includes Kyrgyzstan. The World Health Organization reported.
Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death of people aged 5-29 years.
According to statistics, in 2018, there were 14 fatal traffic accidents per 100 traffic accidents with injuries, among children — 19 deaths per 100 traffic accidents.
During the year, more than 5,000 traffic accidents were registered, 1,400 of which involved children. During the year, 716 people have died, including 87 children.
