Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Osmonbek Artykbaev, charged with corruption within a criminal case on the modernization of the Bishkek’s Heating and Power Plant, was operated. The State Committee for National Security informed 24.kg news agency.
According to it, the deputy is still in hospital. He was hospitalized on December 4 in the Bishkek Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics. Doctors diagnosed him with hernia. Osmonbek Artykbaev has already undergone a comprehensive examination in a hospital.
At least four criminal cases were opened and seven former top managers of the power industry were arrested, including the former head of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev and the former General Director of Electric Stations Salaydin Avazov, on breakdown and modernization of the Bishkek’s Heating and Power Plant.
In addition, former prime ministers Zhantoro Satybaldiev and Sapar Isakov, as well as ex-mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov, are in custody. They all are charged with corruption. Sapar Isakov and Kubanychbek Kulmatov face up to 20 years in prison.
