About 65 percent of citizens in Kyrgyzstan have health insurance

At least 65 percent of citizens in Kyrgyzstan have health insurance. Akylbek Kalykov, Deputy Chairman of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, said today at a press conference.

According to him, the CMIF system registered mostly pensioners, children under 16 and working citizens of the country. The fund annually issues 60,000 medical insurance policies.

Anyone can buy medical insurance. The annual price for it is 1,200 soms.

According to the CMIF, 1 million trеated cases are registered annually in 138 hospitals. And 114 health care organizations and more than 80 pharmaceutical companies have issued 1 million preferential prescriptions for a year.
