The future investor of the Upper Naryn cascade of HPPs will conduct an international audit of the costs for the construction of the stations. The head of the Economy and Investment Department of the Government’s Executive Office Daniyar Imanaliev announced today at the meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic and fiscal policy.
According to him, at the last meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission, the sides managed to agree on the debt due to the construction of the cascade. The issue of international cost audit has not been resolved. This requires large funds, which the country does not have. Kyrgyzstan will find an investor who will conduct audit by himself.
"Russia will withdraw the claim from international arbitration as soon as the debt is repaid. There are investors who are ready to invest in the project on such terms. These are large Chinese and Czech companies. Now we are studying them, how serious their proposals are. As soon as the work is completed, we will present all the information," Daniyar Imanaliev said.
