Vladimir Putin to meet with Almazbek Atambayev

President of Russia Vladimir Putin will meet today, on November 17, with the head of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, the Kremlin’s press service reports.

According to it, today Vladimir Putin will make a trip to St. Petersburg, where he will take part in the opening ceremony of the VI St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

There will also be a meeting with Almazbek Atambayev, who will be in Russia with a working visit and will take part in the events of the forum.

The heads of state will discuss the results of many years of constructive cooperation in the interests of strengthening the entire complex of Russian-Kyrgyz relations.

The Russian side highly appreciates the personal contribution of Almazbek Atambayev to the promotion of the strategic partnership between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to the development of bilateral interaction within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space.

Obviously, this is the last meeting of Atambayev with Putin as president. The inauguration of Sooronbai Jeenbekov, who won the presidential election on October 15, 2017, will take place on November 24 in Kyrgyzstan.
