One of organizers of Talas rally detained

One of the organizers of the rally, which was held on November 3 in Talas town, was detained. Civil activist Mavlyan Askarbekov told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, law enforcement agencies detained Shambet Kubatov, a former employee of Talas Police Department. He was taken to Bishkek and placed in pretrial detention center. Today, Pervomaisky District Court of the capital is to choose measure of restraint.

«Kubatov enjoys support in Talas, so he was brought to Bishkek. I do not know the details, I only know that he was detained within criminal case seven years ago,» Mavlyan Askarbekov said.

At a rally on November 3, Talas residents demanded an official apology from President Almazbek Atambayev. In their opinion, the head of state, speaking on October 18 in Bishkek in the State Residence Ala-Archa when awarding excellent students, unfairly criticized the participants of the rally, which was held in Talas on October 16. Those who did not agree with the results of the presidential elections held this rally.
