Kyrgyzstani wins bronze at Deaf Olympic Games

Taekwondo practitioner from Kyrgyzstan Azamat Mavlonov won bronze at the Deaf Olympic Games, which ended on July 30 in Samsun, Turkey. Official website of the competition reported.

According to it, Mavlonov performed in the weight category up to 68 kilograms. He had four fights. In the eighth of the finals he overcame the representative of Hong Kong, then he was stronger than the Kazakh. In the semifinals, Mavlonov lost to the Russian, and won the Ukrainian in the battle for the third place.

More than 3,100 athletes from 97 countries took part in the Deaf Olympic Games. In the medal standings, Russia became the first (85 gold, 53 silver and 61 bronze medals). Ukraine (21 + 42 + 36) is the second, and the South Korea (18 + 20 + 14) is the third. The national team of Kyrgyzstan is on the 42nd place. It has four bronze medals. In addition to taekwondo, Kyrgyzstanis showed good results at wrestling and judo tournaments.
