President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a law permitting citizens of Kyrgyzstan to drive vehicles in Russia using national driving licenses. The corresponding document was published on the official website of legal information, Interfax.ru reported.
According to the previously adopted point 13 of Article 25 of the Law on Road Safety, driving of vehicles using international or national rights of other states was prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation. The new law introduces an addition to this point.
«The provision of this paragraph does not apply to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as states laws of which stipulate the use of the Russian language as an official language, carrying out entrepreneurial and labor activity in the territory of the Russian Federation, directly related to driving of vehicles," the law says.
