Kyrgyzstan’s taekwondo team wins 10 medals at Astana tournament

The national taekwondo team of Kyrgyzstan successfully completed its performance at the prestigious international competition in the capital of Kazakhstan. The Taekwondo Association reported.

Following the results of two tournaments, Kyrgyz athletes won ten medals (two silver and eight bronze), demonstrating a high level of preparation ahead of the XX Asian Games.

This year, Astana hosted the Altaic Cup for the first time, included in the official calendar of the World Taekwondo Federation. The tournament brought together approximately 380 athletes and had G-1 status, allowing participants to earn World Taekwondo ranking points.

The performance of Kyrgyz athletes at tournaments in Astana became an important stage in the national team’s preparation for the 20th Asian Games, which will be held in 2026 in Japan.
