Sadyr Japarov calls on citizens to fight corruption

At a meeting of President Sadyr Japarov with residents of Dzhumgal district, a resident of the village of Ak-Zhar raised a number of issues related to national security, the military, the fight against corruption, and regional development.

Specifically, he recalled that citizens’ nationality was previously indicated in their passports, but this field was subsequently removed. He believes it should be returned.

In response, Sadyr Japarov explained that the issue was resolved back in 2021, and now citizens themselves decide whether to indicate their nationality in their passports.

«If a person wants their nationality indicated in their passport, for example, Kyrgyz, that is an option. If they don’t, that is their right,» the president said.

Corruption was another topic. The Ak-Zhar resident stated that it must be combated from an early age, as people encounter corruption at various stages of life—from school to employment.

«We’re tired of talking about corruption. Everyone must fight it. If people remain silent and pretend nothing is happening, the president alone won’t solve this problem. Every citizen must participate in the fight against corruption,» the head of state responded.
