Attack on Iran: MFA’s recommendations to Kyrgyzstanis in the Gulf states

Due to the ongoing tense situation in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic recommends that citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the UAE remain calm and take enhanced precautions. A statement by the Foreign Ministry says.

We strongly recommend monitoring official announcements from local UAE authorities (the Ministry of Interior and other competent authorities) and relying solely on reliable information. We also ask that you refrain from disseminating unverified information, the statement emphasizes.

The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reports that competent UAE authorities have decided to temporarily extend the stay of citizens in hotels without charging an additional fee, as well as to prevent evictions due to flight cancellations and postponements.

In this regard, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are advised to remain in their hotels and await official information from the authorities, maintaining constant communication with Kyrgyzstan’s diplomatic missions abroad, tour operators, airlines, and hotel management. In the event of an air raid siren or other emergency, strictly follow the instructions of law enforcement officials and hotel staff.

Given the closed skies regime in the UAE, please consider leaving by land or through third countries only in cases of extreme necessity and with mandatory monitoring of official information from the competent authorities.

The Israeli-U.S. attack on Iran began on February 28 with numerous air and missile strikes on cities and military installations. Tehran responded by attacking Israel and U.S. military bases in several Middle Eastern countries. Following the initial strikes, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of Operation Lion’s Roar.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. Several other high-ranking Tehran officials were also killed.

The escalation in the Middle East continues unabated. Missile strikes continue against declared targets on both sides. Tens of thousands of people are stranded due to the closure of airspace in the conflict zone.
