Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover grows by 4.7 percent in 2024

Kyrgyzstan’s economic indicators for January — July 2024 showed a 4.7 percent increase in foreign trade turnover compared to the same period last year. The Eurasian Development Bank reported.

During this period, imports increased by 6.7 percent. However, export deliveries decreased by 3.7 percent. The growth in imports was due to an increase in the volume of imported products from China, which showed an increase of 32.7 percent. The most significant shares in the structure of imports from China are fabrics, as well as machinery and equipment.

At the same time, export of the Kyrgyz Republic decreased, which is due to a drop in the volume of deliveries to Russia and Kazakhstan by 24.2 percent and 15.9 percent, respectively.

Imports account for 81.8 percent of the total turnover, and exports — only 18.2 percent. Trade with the EAEU countries (Russia, Kazakhstan and others) decreased by 8.7 percent and amounted to $2.4 billion. The main partners in the EAEU are the Russian Federation (71.3 percent) and Kazakhstan (26.8 percent).
