Permanent Representative to the UN Aida Kasymalieva has been appointed Vice-President of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and has already assumed her duties. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The first meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly was held at UN Headquarters on September 10. The meeting was chaired by Philemon Yang of Cameroon, who was elected President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
Recall, Aida Kasymalieva became the Permanent Representative to the UN in December 2021. The corresponding decree was signed by the President Sadyr Japarov.
Aida Kasymalieva was a deputy of the VI convocation of Parliament. She supported Almazbek Atambayev when he was the head of state. She made a documentary about him «On the Steep Passes of History.» She was a journalist in the past.
