A significant acceleration in lending growth was registered in Kyrgyzstan in July 2024 — the volume of new loans increased by 51.1 percent compared to the same period last year. EDB analysts presented such data in a weekly macro review.
They note that this figure is almost twice as high as in June, when the growth amounted to 27.1 percent in annual terms.
For comparison: in February-June 2024, lending volumes grew by an average of 30 percent monthly. About 60 percent of July’s growth is due to active lending in the trade sector, as well as an increase in the provision of loans for consumer needs.
«These trends create conditions for strengthening domestic consumer demand and contribute to the further expansion of economic activity in the country,» the EDB concluded.
