Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov announced that the volumes of commissioning of general education schools and residential buildings have surpassed the Soviet period.
In his address on the occasion of Builder’s Day, the official congratulated workers and veterans of the industry on their professional holiday, emphasizing their contribution to the social and economic development of the country and the prosperity of the state.
«...We see that we have surpassed the Soviet period’s indicators in the construction sector in some areas. I want this indicator to give us strength. For more than 30 years, we looked back and admired the past. Today we understand that our best days and achievements are ahead,» Akylbek Japarov said.
According to the National Statistical Committee, 1,096 thousand square meters of residential buildings were commissioned in the Kyrgyz SSR in 1985, in 1990 — 1,560 thousand square meters, which is the highest indicator. In 2023, at least 1,587.5 thousand square meters of residential buildings were commissioned, thereby exceeding the highest indicators of the Soviet period.
At least 105 schools were commissioned in 2023.
