Court grants appeal of Adakhan Madumarov

Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek on May 22 granted the petition of former deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Adakhan Madumarov to restore the deadline for filing an appeal.

As the lawyer of the politician reported on Telegram, a new appeal against the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court will be filed with the Bishkek City Court. The information was confirmed in the district court.

On May 8, Pervomaisky District Court rejected the appeal of Adakhan Madumarov on the grounds that the deadline for filing an application had expired. His lawyers disagreed with this decision and filed a petition to restore the procedural term.

The Pervomaisky District Court granted the petition of the politician’s lawyers, restoring the procedural term. This means that it is now possible to appeal against the sentence of the district court of March 26, 2024.

On March 26, 2024, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek found Adakhan Madumarov guilty of treason and fraud. But due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, the politician was released from punishment. However, due to the fact that the preventive measure was not changed for him, he remained in custody until April 26.

It became known on April 26 that the Central Election Commission prematurely terminated the powers of the deputy Adakhan Madumarov. The basis for this decision was the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court.

Adakhan Madumarov was a deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan of 7th convocation from Butun Kyrgyzstan faction.
