At least 20,334 stray dogs were shot in Kyrgyzstan in 2023. The Deputy Director of the Veterinary Service Bakyt Sharapov said at a press conference.
Earlier, Ramiz Aliyev, head of Tazalyk municipal enterprise, said that about 4.5 million soms are allocated for shooting stray animals in Bishkek. And about 60 million soms is needed to build a shelter.
«For example, money is not spent in America on shelters. Volunteers, various foundations are engaged in this. 4.5 million for switch to a humane method...We can offer only such a system for these funds,» he said.
