Rallies banned in Uzgen district until November

Rallies were banned in Uzgen district of Kyrgyzstan until November 8. The Osh Regional Court confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

According to it, protests and peaceful rallies cannot be held near the buildings of the Uzgen district state administration, the local City Hall, the city House of Culture, aiyl okmotu, at stadiums, in public places and villages.

A member of Butun Kyrgyzstan party, Batyrbek Rakhimov, told reporters that on September 26, more than 50 supporters of the deputy Adakhan Madumarov gathered in Chynar park in Kurshab village, Uzgen district, in order to make an appeal to the authorities about the arrest of the politician, but law enforcement officials told them about a ban on holding rallies.

The party member stressed that at the rally they intended to ask the authorities to stop political persecution and release Adakhan Madumarov and Butun Kyrgyzstan member Zamirbek Shamshidin uulu from custody.

Adakhan Madumarov was charged with treason. On September 2, he was detained and, by court decision, placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
