Delegation from Kyrgyzstan goes on scientific, cultural expedition to Pakistan

Kyrgyzstanis went on a scientific and cultural expedition to Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The delegation included historians, diplomats, entrepreneurs, artists and ethnic designers.

They took part in a scientific conference on ethnic Kyrgyz in Pakistan, which was held at the Karakoram International University.

According to Ryskul Akimdzhanova, a member of the expedition, ethnic Kyrgyz and Pakistanis warmly welcomed the performances by the manaschi and komuz players. She added that more than a thousand Kyrgyz live in Pakistan.

The delegation also visited the grave of Zhanybek kazy, who was the leader of the Kyrgyz who migrated to Pakistan.

The state and political figure Zhanybek kazy was born in 1861 in Uzgen. He was an active participant in the creation of the Turkestan autonomy and the uprising against the Soviet regime. According to some reports, in 1930 he left for China with his family, then moved to Pakistan, where he was buried.
